What is bacteriostatic water?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol — a bacteriostatic preservative that prevents bacterial growth. It's used in laboratory and research settings to reconstitute lyophilised compounds.

Each vial we sell has been tested for sterility, concentration, and purity by an external lab — not just our own internal QC. The certificate of analysis is publicly available so buyers can verify each batch themselves.
How long does BAC water last after opening?
Once opened, bacteriostatic water remains usable for up to 28 days when stored properly (refrigerated at 2–8°C, sealed between uses). After 28 days the bacteriostatic preservative is no longer reliably effective and the vial should be discarded.
